CASEMENT WINDOWS

The successor to the stone mullioned window, the timber casement window has been consistently popular through fenestration history. Casement windows are simply defined as a window attached to its frame by hinges. The versatility of their design enables them to be widely suited to both domestic and commercial properties, old and new.

Casement windows can be manufactured to a number of specifications and multiple opening options, with casements being side hung, top hung, bottom hung (hopper), fixed or direct glazed. We manufacture 2 types of casement windows; stormproof and flush casement windows.

STORMPROOF

Stormproof windows were introduced in the 1950’s and have been widely used in modern day buildings since that period, particularly in areas exposed to the weather.

Their high performance design features outward opening draught sealed casements, which are rebated to stand proud of the face of the window frame to provide enhanced protection from the elements.

Our stormproof windows offer excellent standards of insulation and security with standard features including highly efficient warm edged double glazed units, draught sealing and ovolo moulding.

Tilt &Turn windows have a dual hinge system, allowing the casement to open into the room from the top or side. This style is favoured in apartments and modern buildings where escape or easy maintenance is required. Our tilt & turn windows are fitted with high security multi-point locking systems and locking handles.

Manufactured in laminated softwood or hardwood, we can design and manufacture stormproof windows to suit any style and specification to suit your individual needs. For a superior finish the windows are then sprayed with 3 coats of micro-porous paint under a controlled environment in our Factory.

Flush casement windows unite traditional appearance with modern engineering. The casements are inset flush with the frame hence their name. They are a popular choice for conservation projects and listed buildings as they offer high performance and durability without compromising on the traditional aesthetics.

All flush casement windows are made to measure to your individual design. We can incorporate mullions & transoms, multiple panes, different opening methods, single or double glazing and bespoke glazing bar profiles - countless options are available.

Inward opening Hopper windows can be manufactured for an authentic appearance, and are often a planning requirement on barn conversions.

Traditionally manufactured for period properties, flush casements are also increasingly being used in contemporary projects due to their clean sight lines and elegant finish. Large expanses of glass without glazing bars are very fashionable with new build and modern properties, fusing traditional craftsmanship with innovative design.
